In 2007, Renee Hembree founded Teen Angels, a non-profit aimed at supporting homeless students in the North Myrtle Beach High School area, helping them succeed academically. In 2019, Teen Angels became a service project of the Rotary Club of Little River. Since then, the organization has expanded its focus to assist not only homeless students but students and families facing unforeseen challenges and emergencies.

Teen Angel Funding at North Myrtle Beach High School
Through referrals from the Principal and guidance counselors, the Teen Angel program provides support to students and families facing financial hardships or emergencies.
Some of the needs we have met include:
- Clear backpacks and essential school supplies
- Food gift certificates to help families through weekends
- Clothing for students in need
- Thanksgiving and Christmas meals
Looking ahead, we are excited to host a special holiday experience. This year, we plan to take 25–30 students Christmas shopping, providing each with gift certificates so they can choose the items they need most.
